From Inspiration to Execution The Basel Strategy

We’ve just wrapped an unforgettable time at WordCamp Europe 2025 in the stunning city of Basel, Switzerland, and it’s safe to say it was more than just another event. It was a celebration of everything we believe in at Seahawk Media: community, innovation, and collaboration.

Our CEO and Founder, Ryan James, joined by our COO and Co-Founder, Gautam Khorana, represented Seahawk Media at the heart of the action.

This trip was more than just an appearance. It was about reconnecting with old friends, forging new partnerships, and fueling our shared mission to shape the future of WordPress.

One of the true highlights was finally meeting the legendary Cory Miller in person, and Katie Richards from Hosting.com

And of course, it’s always a pleasure as they met good friends like Ben Rojas and Arnaud Broes from All in One SEO (AIOSEO).

While they didn’t capture too many photos, the memories are vivid. The few snapshots only scratch the surface of what was truly a high-energy, deeply inspiring experience.

The main goals of the trip were simple but meaningful:

  • Explore innovative plugins and tools on the horizon.
  • Connect with leading digital agencies and hosting companies shaping the future of web infrastructure.

Let’s not forget they were in Switzerland, so naturally, fondue happened and it was every bit as good as you’d expect.

From all of us at Seahawk Media, a big thank you to the organizers, contributors, and every face that made Basel such a memorable chapter in our WordPress journey. Here’s to many more!
