The Users section in WordPress allows you to manage and interact with user accounts on your website. The Users Add New Screen provides an interface to create new user accounts. This article will cover various aspects of managing users in WordPress.

Table of Users

The Table of Users lists existing user accounts on your website. It provides the following features:

  • Sortable Columns: Click on column headers to sort the users based on the respective column data, such as username, name, email, or role.
  • Page Navigation: If there are many users, the table may be split across multiple pages. Use the pagination links to navigate through the pages.
  • Screen Options: Customize the displayed columns and the number of users per page using the Screen Options tab.
  • Search: Enter keywords in the search box to filter the users based on the entered criteria.

Filtering Options

WordPress offers various filtering options to narrow down the list of users. You can filter users based on their roles, specific usernames, or email addresses. Use the available filter dropdowns and input fields to refine your search.

Using Selection, Actions, and Apply

Delete Users

Deleting users removes their accounts and associated data from your WordPress website. When deleting a user, you can transfer their posts and content to another user. Exercise caution when deleting users, as this action is not reversible.

Change Roles to

Changing the roles of users allows you to modify their access level and capabilities. Use this option to assign different user roles to selected users. User roles define what actions users can perform on your website.

Edit Users

Editing users allows you to modify their account details, such as username, name, email, or role. Access the Edit User screen by clicking the Edit link next to a user in the Table of Users. Make the necessary changes and save the modifications to update the user’s account information.

Utilizing the functionalities in the Users section allows you to effectively manage and interact with user accounts on your WordPress website. Use the available features to organize, assign roles, and maintain a secure user system.
